Net Log: Sacramento Valley CERT Net About: Sacramento Valley CERT Net Date: Sept. 19, 2021 Net Control: WS6Z Log URL: https://log.hamtools.org/log/view/87 Opening Announcements ------------------------------- Imagine a long-term power outage of at least a week that prevents you from having your normal cooking mechanism (stove, oven, etc). What alternatives do you have to heat food and boil water for ensuring safe food consumption. Now we will begin CERT team roll calls, grouped by participating City CERT teams. We will take any late or missing members after roll call finishes. After roll call, we will call for visiting stations. Checkins: Woodland ------------------------------- We now ask Woodland CERT members to check into the net. Checkins: WA6TQJ Gary - generator to cook is almost not practical -- takes too much electricity - more important to keep refrige running - cooking was done with gas - had a wood stove as a fall back - wells are an issue without power - 5k generator is possibly sufficient, need 7k with a well ## Late Members We will do visitor checkins in a moment, but first are there any late members of Sacramento Valley CERT teams, or CERT members that aren’t on the roster that would like to check into tonight’s net? *Handle any late checkins* Visitors ------------------------------- We will now accept visitor checkins to the Sacramento Valley Multi-City CERT net.  You do not need to be affiliated with a CERT team to check into our net. All visitors are welcome.  If you're a visiting station that would like to check in, please come now with your callsign, name and location. Checkins: KW6T Russ La trobe - pg&e cut power a while back - 4 days out - have a 250 gallon propane tank - didn't have heating though, other than a fire place - unfortunately a well needed power and that was more challenging - used car batteries to keep internet/tv up End time: 20:21
