Opening Announcements

What techniques and training topics has your CERT team found useful for continuous and retraining of your CERT team.



Now we will begin CERT team roll calls, grouped by participating City CERT teams.  We will take any late or missing members after roll call finishes.  After roll call, we will call for visiting stations.


Davis City CERT

- Recurring first aid is important -- once a quarter
- EMR training is excellent but expensive for CERT teams
- advanced first aid is a good middle ground

- next month we have an event drill
    - working on setup, rollout, etc.

- schedules are difficult to achieve






Folsom

- Monthly training is mostly fixed rotating schedule
- changes usually only because of EMR issues (Folsom paramedics do most of the training)
- New medical and rehab unites are pull in new training as well

- Setting up abilities for CERT teams to do their own refreshers can help with skills like ropes, etc, that are rarely revisited
    - let people get together outside regular meetings for things like this
    - Have group leads set up and provide training






Sacramento Metro Fire CERT

- Infection control, radio and basic refresher is once a year
- have walk in nights for CPR, ropes, medical training

- Participate in all classes you can
- hands on training is important






West Sacramento
