Net Log: Sacramento Valley CERT Net About: Sacramento Valley CERT Net Date: Sept. 5, 2022 Net Control: Log URL: https://log.hamtools.org/log/view/132 Opening Announcements ------------------------------- The pandemic has caused in-person groups like CERT troubles in keeping energy going. What has worked for your group and what hasn't? What's happened to your group's general attendance and training, etc? What could be improved. Now we will begin CERT team roll calls, grouped by participating City CERT teams. We will take any late or missing members after roll call finishes. After roll call, we will call for visiting stations. Davis City CERT ------------------------------- We now ask Davis City CERT members to check into the net. Checkins: WS6Z Wes Hardaker - Davis had plans for another training class, right before the pandemic and it got cancelled. - In general, Davis hasn't been that active lately as in-person meetings died away generally. KK6POX Heather Spaulding - also caused a strain on resources like fire departments too, which may have contributed to the downfall of many side-projects like CERT. Elk Grove / Galt ------------------------------- We now ask Elk Grove / Galt City CERT members to check into the net. Checkins: Folsom ------------------------------- We now ask Folsom CERT members to check into the net. Checkins: KR6RAO Kishore - communication has become super important, especially virtual commenications - focused on procedures and safety skills - active volunteers have gone down - positive: after we were able to meet in person it became very apparent about how important in-person trainings/etc was KK6PAS Chuck - with fewer meetings, especially from an ARES perspective: less activitise to help and socialize and get cohersion - need to be sensitive to what other people think (masking, eg) Sacramento Metro Fire CERT ------------------------------- We now ask Sacramento Metro Fire CERT members to check into the net. Checkins: KM6RIW Brad - found it acceptable to do online training for qualifications - in the past it was required to be face-to-face - this is both good and bad - good: engagement - bad: training not as good as in person West Sacramento ------------------------------- We now ask West Sacramento CERT members to check into the net. Checkins: Woodland ------------------------------- We now ask Woodland CERT members to check into the net. Checkins: WA6TQJ Gary - verbal communication had to be retrained - visual communication lost a lot of understanding about how to interpret others - people had to learn new technology (zoom etc) - reduced opportunities - technology once learned enabled retained of education too - worst that has happened: have-nots really had a hard time ## Late Members We will do visitor checkins in a moment, but first are there any late members of Sacramento Valley CERT teams, or CERT members that aren’t on the roster that would like to check into tonight’s net? *Handle any late checkins* Visitors ------------------------------- We will now accept visitor checkins to the Sacramento Valley Multi-City CERT net.  You do not need to be affiliated with a CERT team to check into our net.
