Net Log: Sacramento Valley CERT Net About: Sacramento Valley CERT Net Date: May 9, 2022 Net Control: WS6Z Log URL: https://log.hamtools.org/log/view/119 Opening Announcements ------------------------------- What do you think the right balance is between providing net control at an event details about local events at a checkpoint or similar vs things that are emergency and must be passed upward. What's the right guidelines you use for finding a balance? [Wes relayed a story from the weekend's events that triggered this question] Now we will begin CERT team roll calls, grouped by participating City CERT teams. We will take any late or missing members after roll call finishes. After roll call, we will call for visiting stations. Davis City CERT ------------------------------- We now ask Davis City CERT members to check into the net. Checkins: WS6Z Wes Hardaker KG6SJT Greg Kruckewitt - net control should be acting on requests from the field - but net control should also be handling and recording events occurring in the field - possible injuries are critical - liability is import to consider to - net control needs to be assertive to ask for what they want W6KJX Lucile King - Greg and Lucile stayed up there until late evening - missing horse was not found by that point - small information requests is not important to relay (horse numbers, etc) Elk Grove / Galt ------------------------------- We now ask Elk Grove / Galt City CERT members to check into the net. Checkins: Folsom ------------------------------- We now ask Folsom CERT members to check into the net. Checkins: KR6RAO Kishore - balance depends on what is going on at the time and business Sacramento Metro Fire CERT ------------------------------- We now ask Sacramento Metro Fire CERT members to check into the net. Checkins: KM6RIW Brad - as cert members, we should be practicing for a disaster - be flexible - net control will make the decision about what level of detail needs to be passed - during the net, it may change depending on how busy it was - "actionable" isn't the right criteria, probably West Sacramento ------------------------------- We now ask West Sacramento CERT members to check into the net. Checkins: Woodland ------------------------------- We now ask Woodland CERT members to check into the net. Checkins: WA6TQJ Gary - net control should determine what is actionable at event - life threating, injury, operations, etc - can shift to a different frequency ## Late Members We will do visitor checkins in a moment, but first are there any late members of Sacramento Valley CERT teams, or CERT members that aren’t on the roster that would like to check into tonight’s net? *Handle any late checkins* Visitors ------------------------------- We will now accept visitor checkins to the Sacramento Valley Multi-City CERT net.  You do not need to be affiliated with a CERT team to check into our net. All visitors are welcome.  If you're a visiting station that would like to check in, please come now with your callsign, name and location.
